Sonoma Technology worked closely with EPA's Office of Research and Development to enhance the EPA Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) source apportionment model, which can be used to analyze air, water, and soil quality data sets to determine pollutant sources. EPA PMF includes a graphical user interface that allows users to easily input data and generate, evaluate, and export results. The model is freely available and does not require a license or other software to use.<br>
New features of EPA PMF 5.0 include
<ul><li>Two additional error estimation methods</li>
<li>Ability to read data from multiple sites</li>
<li>Ability to constrain source contributions and profiles</li>
<li>Reduced model run times</li></ul>
Sonoma Technology worked closely with EPA's Office of Research and Development to enhance EPA PMF. We develop and deliver comprehensive training on its use to regional and local air quality agencies.

Advanced analytics for interpreting EPA PMF solutions were developed and described <a href="http://www.atmos-meas-tech.net/7/781/2014/" target="_blank">in a report</a href> coauthored by Sonoma Technology staff.
