Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ)
Sonoma Technology has provided air quality forecasts for the state of Louisiana since 2006. These forecasts include predictions of summertime ozone and year-round PM2.5 concentrations for eight cities across the state. In addition to local emissions, air quality in Louisiana can be impacted by long-range smoke and trans-Atlantic Saharan dust transport. We also produce monthly and year-end reports that summarize meteorological and air quality conditions for Louisiana, focusing especially on high-pollution episodes. Sonoma Technology meteorologists also provide media support under LDEQ’s direction and produce on-demand screening analyses for potential exceptional events such as smoke or dust episodes.
