Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
STI programmers design Visual Basic front-ends for models based on Fortran, C++, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Oracle. We have developed public domain GUIs for the CALINE4 and REHEX models as well as proprietary software for a variety of clients, including emissions models for petroleum processing facilities (created for the American Petroleum Institute) and for mobile source emissions (created for the California Bureau of Automotive Repair).
Data Display and Quality Assurance Software
STI staff are known for their comprehensive approach to the quality assurance of meteorological, geophysical, emissions, and air quality data. Our software specialists have developed and refined software tools to facilitate thorough quality assurance. The VOCDat and SurfDat programs display and analyze multiple parameter time-series data and provide convenient data editing capabilities. Our LAPMom and GraphXM software programs provide comparable functions for upper-air wind and temperature data.
Mathematical Modeling Software
STI scientists develop mathematical models of physical and chemical processes related to air pollution. We provide complete modeling systems, such as the REHEX model for population exposure assessment. We also provide software to extend the capabilities of models developed by other groups (e.g., UAM-AERO, SAQM-AERO, and UAM-FCM).
