Sonoma Technology is seeking a professional engineer to join our Atmospheric and Emissions Modeling Group on an on-call, part-time, or full-time basis. For more information about our culture, visit <a href="" target="_blank"></a href>.</p> Sonoma Technology is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.</p> <b>Key Responsibilities</b> <ul><li>Conduct and/or oversee quantitative assessments of travel activity, motor vehicle emissions, and the air quality and energy impacts of past, present, and future vehicle fleets to support Sonoma Technology’s transportation research activities.</li> <li>Assess facility operations and conduct emissions assessments to support air quality impact analyses, and address complex environmental problems to meet our clients’ research, regulatory, and litigation support needs.</li> <li>Conduct engineering evaluations of air pollution sources and estimate air emissions using scientific and/or regulatory best practices.</li> <li>Research, review, and analyze relevant air quality regulations, emissions data, emission control technologies, and mitigation strategies.</li> <li>Work with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced consulting environment.</li></ul> <b>Required Qualifications and Skills</b> <ul><li>California Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with a degree in environmental science/engineering or a related discipline.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of transportation and industrial air emissions.</li> <li>Strong quantitative reasoning skills and a demonstrated ability to apply sound scientific and engineering judgement to transportation and environmental problems.</li> <li>Experience in air quality engineering and environmental management.</li> <li>Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.</li></ul> <b>Desired Qualifications</b> <ul><li>Experience working with government transportation agencies or air quality authorities.</li> <li>Experience with or knowledge of CEQA/NEPA compliance related to air quality and transportation planning.</li> <li>Knowledge of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), air quality regulations, and federal transportation conformity.</li> <li>Knowledge of air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of pollution controls.</li> <li>Familiarity with transportation emissions modeling tools (e.g., EMFAC, MOVES) to estimate mobile source emissions.</li></ul> <b>Submitting a Résumé</b><br> No phone calls, please.
