For more information about our culture, visit <a href="" target="_blank"></a href>.</p> Sonoma Technology is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.</p> <b>Typical Roles</b> <ul><li>Lead STI outreach and business development efforts with California air agencies, including air pollution control districts and the California Air Pollution Control Officers Association (CAPCOA). Lead STI efforts to develop new projects to support air agencies, especially regarding AB 617, community-based work, and climate change. This includes supporting STI’s long-term relationship-building efforts with clients, working with STI business area leaders to strategically target high-probability or high-value work opportunities, leading or assisting in developing contracting mechanisms, and leading or assisting in preparing proposals to complete work.</li> <li>Co-lead development of Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEPs) for the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This includes identification of community partners, development and refinement of project concepts, and submission of projects.</li> <li>Lead expansion of STI’s SEP program to develop and submit SEP proposals to other California state agencies, and identify and pursue similar opportunities outside California.</li> <li>Co-lead STI outreach and business development efforts to national air quality organizations such as the National Association of Clean Air Agencies. </li> <li>Manage one to three community-based projects. This involves working closely with STI’s measurements, software development, and data science teams to assess community-based air quality, provide real-time access to air quality data through websites and other tools, conduct outreach to community members, and support youth education.</li> <li>Develop an STI practice for senior scientists to serve as funded “Technical Advisors” to community-based organizations.</li> <li>Coordinate the creation and execution of a business development plan to expand STI’s work on climate-related issues. This includes working with STI business area leaders to identify potential clients and funding, completing ongoing outreach to potential funding organizations, developing focused work plans to strategically target high-probability or high-value work opportunities, and leading or assisting in preparing proposals to complete work.</li> <li>Work closely with STI’s New Products team to identify marketable product opportunities to serve community-based organizations and other clients.</li> <li>Provide support to STI’s scientific team by providing senior-level quality assurance reviews of draft work products.</li></ul> <b>Required Qualifications and Skills</b> <ul><li>A degree in the physical sciences, environmental sciences, or engineering.</li> <li>10+ years of experience related to air quality.</li> <li>Experience establishing strategic and near-term plans and priorities.</li> <li>Proven track record leading organizations or teams, and overseeing technically complex environmental analysis projects.</li> <li>Excellent communication, organizational management, project management, and staff management skills.</li> <li>Wide recognition in the air quality field, with a successful, well-established record of working with air agencies and other organizations to manage complex environmental projects involving multiple stakeholders.</li> <li>Experience in problem-solving and explaining scientific issues to a lay audience.</li></ul> <b>Submitting a Résumé</b><br> No phone calls, please.
