Air Quality and Meteorological Forecasting

Forecasting, Technique Development, Custom Software

Providing advanced warning of unhealthy air quality to the public is becoming increasingly important for air quality agencies. STI meteorologists have the scientific knowledge, tools, and infrastructure to provide accurate and timely air quality forecasts. We use prediction tools combined with experience to produce accurate forecasts that meet the needs and deadlines of public awareness programs.

STI not only provides forecasting services, but develops specialized forecast models that allow agencies to efficiently and objectively forecast air quality for themselves. These models use tools ranging from simple rules of thumb to mathematically-based tools such as classification and regression trees, regression equations, neural networks, and fuzzy logic.
